AFS Technologies Listed as a "Sample Vendor" in Four Recent Gartner Hype Cycle Reports

PHOENIX --(Business Wire)--

AFS Technologies, the only global, end-to-end solution provider to the Food & Beverage and CPG industry, announced that it was mentioned as a "Sample Vendor" in four recent Gartner (News - Alert) Hype Cycle Reports: Hype Cycle for Consumer Goods, 20141; Hype Cycle for CRM Sales, 20142; Hype Cycle for Mobile Applications and Development3, 2014; and Hype Cycle for Customer Analytic Applications, 20144.

Gartner identified AFS Technologies (AFS) as a sample vendor for:

  • Trade Promotion Optimization in the Hype Cycle for Consumer Goods, 2014; and Hype Cycle for Customer Analytic Applications, 2014. According to the reports, "As a practical concept, TPO technologies seek to simulate promotional outcomes based on scenarios for pricing, promotional type (such as display, advertising and secondary display), duration, timing, frequency, specific item and product family."
  • Mobile Sales Force Automation (SFA) for Orders/Inventories in the Hype Cycle for CRM Sales, 2014 and Hype Cycle for Mobile Applications and Development, 2014. As noted in the reports, "Mobile sales force automation (SFA) for orders and inventory involves the use of wireless applications from prepackaged, embedded and mobile enterprise application platform (MEAP)-based tools to improve the timeliness, accuracy and currency of order/inventory information. It enables the real-time look-up of inventory status in current locations, as well as other locales or warehouses, along with order submittal. Analytics for historical orders provides a better understanding of customer needs to derive suggested order quantities."
  • Retail Activity Optimization in the Hype Cycle for Consumer Goods, 2014. The report discusses how "these tecnologies use advanced modeling (regression analysis and linear programming) to drive the activities that manufacturers want executed by field sales personnel dedicated to in-store activities, such as retail merchandisers, broker retail sales forces and direct store delivery drivers. The technologies include data accumulation and analysis, pushing the activities out to the field sales force through mobile devices (such as tablet PCs or handhelds) and collecting the inputs or outcomes from the mobile devices."

"We are ecstatic that AFS was one of two vendors listed in four different Gartner Hype Cycle reports for trade promotion optimization, retail activity optimization and mobile SFA," says Kurien Jacob, CEO, AFS Technologies.

"These Hype Cycle reports point out how solutions can help improve trade promotions, increase responsiveness to customer needs or optimize execution and 'win at the shelf'. We feel our mentions reinforce our belief that AFS solutions are relevant, sought after and we are at the forefront of technology-providing capabilities and solutions that align with the needs of sales, marketing and finance organizations in consumer goods companies," adds Jacob.
