Ultimus Fund Solutions Expands Fund Administration Team to Meet Emerging Market Needs, Growing Client Base

Ultimus Fund Solutions, LLC (Ultimus), one of the largest independent providers of mutual fund services to the financial industry, today announced that it has expanded its fund administration team, adding former SEC (News - Alert) and fund company attorney Bo Howell to what is already a deep team of experts. The move demonstrates Ultimus' commitment to providing high-level strategy and support across the fund lifecycle, with investment managers facing increasing regulations, competitive pressures and cost constraints. The expansion comes amid a series of recent client wins, further validating Ultimus' growing leadership position in the fund servicing space.

Ultimus already has one of the industry's deepest in-house fund administration teams, and this hire will further strengthen their offering. In his new role, Howell will join industry veterans Wade Bridge and Tina Bloom at the firm as a Vice President, Director of Fund Administration. Bridge and Bloom are seasoned senior attorneys who have led the firm's Legal Department for the past several years.

Howell brings deep expertise across the fund spectrum, from the startup process and compliance requirements to corporate governance and board protocols. Howell's experience includes an extended stay withthe SEC's Division of Investment Management where he served first as a staff attorney in the Office of Enforcement Liaison, before becoming a senior attorney in the Office of Disclosure and Review. Most recently he served as Counsel - Securities and Mutual Funds at Western & Southern Financial Group where he served in a senior role at the Touchstone (News - Alert) mutual fund complex. With extensive knowledge of '40 Act, '33 Act and other regulatory requirements, Howell will be a valuable asset as Ultimus continues to grow its fund administration team and seeks to expand its compliance offering.

Howell has expertise on fund legal and regulatory issues, having been published in numerous trade publications and law journals. He holds a B.A. in political science from Washington State University, a J.D. from Gonzaga University School of Law and is pursuing a M.S. in finance from the Indiana University (News - Alert) Kelley School of Business. He resides in the Cincinnati area with his wife and family.
