Fujitsu to Demonstrate How Innovative Use of Currency Handling, PalmSecure Biometric and New RFID Technologies Will Improve Security and Accountability During Cash Handling Process for Casino Customers and Employees at G2E Las Vegas

FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

Fujitsu Frontech North America Inc., a leader in innovative technology and front-end solutions will be demonstrating an innovative integration of their currency handling technology, PalmSecure® biometric solutions, as well as RFID solutions at the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) in booth number 5740, at The Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV, from September 30 - October 2, 2014. G2E is North America's largest casino-entertainment event with over 25,000 attendees and over 400 exhibitors.

"We're very excited to be presenting this security concept at G2E. The monitoring of cash within casinos today has traditionally been a very manual process. We believe we can take cost and time out of the process, while adding a layer of security and accountability that doesn't exist today," says Randy Fox, vice president, currency handling and identity product solutions, Fujitsu (News - Alert) Frontech North America Inc. "By integrating our technologies with cash carts, casino operators will have the ability to monitor the amount of cash at pick-up per cassette, the time of pick-up, the location of pick-up, and positively authenticate the identity of the individuals transporting the cash. In addition, with the application of Fujitsu RFID technology, they will have the ability to track the physical location of the cash from the gaming table to the back office cash room."

In addition to the security concept, Fujitsu will also be demonstrating the largest and smallest OEM recyclers in the product line. The G750L, with up to five high capacity recycling cassettes, a large "pocket-style" acceptor/dispenser and the capability of handling 8 notes per second, will be the featured recycler. The G60 bill recycling unit will be integrated as an OEM component in a market-leading ATM to demonstrate the flexibility of the unit, and integrated in a popular pari-mutuel gaming ticket redemption kiosk. The Fujitsu G60, with up to 1,900 notes capacity, features 4 recycling cassttes, 1 deposit cassette and 1 optional F53 loading cassette. Fujitsu offers OEM currency dispensers like the F50, F53, F56, F400, F510, and bulk currency acceptors and currency recyclers like the G610/611 and the aforementioned G60.

Fujitsu will also be demonstrating PalmSecure biometrics technology, used to positively authenticate users in applications like time and attendance, physical access control and single sign-on. This advanced, vascular pattern recognition technology not only provides highly reliable authentication with low false accept and reject rates, but also generates fast and easy enrollment, while being virtually impossible to "spoof."

Finally, Fujitsu will be demonstrating a family of RFID tags including the washable UHF RFID tags for garments, uniforms and linens as well as their newly announced programmable asset tracking tags. The newly announced asset tracking tags are available in three sizes and contain either 1-KB or 8-KB of user memory to record asset information. Usable with metal and non-metal items, they can be affixed to almost any surface and can enable casinos to record financial and asset information to drop boxes, currency cartridges and tills as well as record time and date of the pick-up and drop off. Fujitsu's industry leading WT-A522 linen tags are in use around the world for tracking uniforms, garments and other washable assets used in many major casinos and hotel properties.
