Key leadership appointments strengthen Lloyds Registers Management Systems business, LRQA

(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Lloyds Register (LR) announces a number of key appointments to strengthen one of LRs core business streams.

John Rowley has been appointed Managing Director LR Management Systems, effective 1st July, having been working closely on the handover with Mike James, his predecessor, since January. Mike is retiring from LR after 22 years' service, during which time the Management Systems business has grown from its early beginnings to being one of the leading certification bodies in the world.

In order to meet the demands of over 50,000 clients that the Management Systems business serves worldwide, including many of the worlds best known brands with operations spanning the globe. John, who will be based in Hong Kong and London, is repositioning the business to diversify the service portfolio and deliver even greater value to clients.

Richard Sadler, LR CEO said John has an excellent track record of delivering sustainable profitable growth and his strategic insight and strong leadership make him ideal to lead the next phase of the Management Systems business journey.

Previously, John had held the position of President Lloyds Register Asia Pacific since 2009, responsible for executive oversight of the LR Groups activities in the region and for providing efficient and effective cross-business services.

John joined Lloyd's Register in 2009 after 14 years with Ecolab - a Fortune 500 global market leader in the industrial chemicals industry. During his time at Ecolab he held key leadership positions in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore and Sydney, including Division General Manager Greater China, Managing Director South East Asia, Managing Director Australasia and Senior Vice President & Managing Director of the Asia region.

Since joining LRQA, John has put in place a new leadership team to work with him to take the growing and successful Management Systems business up to the next level, including bringing in a new Chief Operating Officer and a new Finance Director. Paul Graaf has been appointed Management Systems Chief Operating Officer. Paul, who previously was Director, Lloyds Register EMEA, will lead a global operations structure through eight Area Operations Managers and a Global Sales Director. The new operating structure will drive superior value to the client (many of whom are served by other members of the Lloyds Register group) through LR Management Systems functioning as a market-led and technically-enabled global business.

Steve Allison has been appointed as Management Systems Finance Director. Steve was previously the Finance Director of LRs Rail Transportation business.

Alongside Paul and Steve sit Duane Wood (Strategy and Marketing), Denis Ives (Service Innovation and Governance) and Rebecca Berry (Human Resources) who all continue with senior roles within LRQA and who along with Paul Graaf, Steve Allison and the Transformation Director (Robert Dows-Miller), form the Management Systems Leadership Team (MSLT), reporting directly to John Rowley. The MSLT - who will be based in Lloyds Registers London headquarters - will be further strengthened through the appointment of three more new leadership team positions, for which active recruitment is taking place both within LR and externally. These positions are the Global Sales Director, the General Manager Business Advisory Services and the General Manager Supply Chain Assurance Services. We are on a strategic journey towards an even more successful and sustainable future, said John Rowley. Being globally organised and led, coupled with expanding our service portfolio, will help to ensure that we achieve global alignment, excellence and consistency, as well as enabling us to stay totally focused on the client and the unique needs of each geographical market.
