Varonis DatAnywhere Provides Employees and Customers of Combined Properties, Incorporated, With Secure, Private Cloud-Style File Sharing Solution

(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 04/23/14 -- Varonis Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: VRNS), the leading provider of software solutions for unstructured, human-generated enterprise data, today revealed details of how Combined Properties, Incorporated, is utilizing Varonis DatAnywhere to securely provide employees, business partners and clients with remote access to files stored on the company's internal servers using their mobile devices. Varonis DatAnywhere extends the usability of corporate file sharing infrastructure to enable traditional file servers and NAS devices to emulate cloud-based file sharing services.

Before implementing the DatAnywhere solution, Combined Properties, a full-service real estate development and asset management company active in the acquisition, development, redevelopment and value enhancement of shopping centers and mixed-use properties, only allowed mobile access to the company's data through Microsoft Remote Desktop, which did not provide the file-sharing experience that employees had come to expect from a file-sharing solution.

According to Andre White, Combined Properties' Director of Information Technology, the company's employees were thrilled with the implementation of DatAnywhere. "Once people were trained on how to use DatAnywhere, all of our employees were able to log in and set up the files they wanted for themselves. We also set up the application for our Chairman, and he's just had many wonderful things to say about the product. He didn't need to know the technical details; he needed an easy, reliable and secure solution to mobile computing." One of the key features Combined Properties was looking for in a file-sharing solution was the ability to store all data on the company's internal servers, rather than storing in an external data center, where they couldn't be certain who would be able to access the data. Additionally, the company wanted to provide employees with the ease-of-use they had come to expect from other consumer-facing, cloud-based file sharing services, including file synchronization and the ability to access files from anywhere on any device. Varonis DatAnywhere was the only solution they found that fulfilled these criteria.

"DatAnywhere provides organizations who rely heavily on collaboration with a secure way to share data," said David Gibson, VP of Marketing at Varonis. "The DatAnywhere implementation doesn't require any changes to the underlying IT infrastructure, nor does any data need to be moved or permissions modified. As a company that provides solutions to help IT teams manage data access and permissions, we understand the importance of an easy, unobtrusive implementation that doesn't negate any of the existing security measures. Instead, DatAnywhere extends them to mobile devices." Varonis will host an informational webinar today -- Wed., April 23, at 2:00 p.m. EDT -- on how Combined Properties is using Varonis DatAnywhere to empower collaboration among employees and customers without the cloud.
