Trimble to Offer Rajant's New Portable Mesh Wireless Networking Node

(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 15 April 2014 Release date- 14042014 - SUNNYVALE, Calif. and MALVERN, Penn. -Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) and Rajant Corporation announced today that Trimble will offer the latest BreadCrumb LX5 Portable Wireless Mesh Networking Node used in Rajant Kinetic Mesh Networks.

The LX5 and the BreadCrumb family are part of Trimble's mining portfolio.

Trimble's positioning solutions-the Trimble Terralite XPS GNSS augmentation system and Trimble 4D Control slope monitoring system-provide the technology infrastructure needed to support mining productivity and safety applications. From fleet management and grade control for road construction to collision avoidance and slope monitoring, Trimble provides a complete communications and positioning infrastructure solution for mining with Rajant?s Kinetic Mesh technology.

Trimble will be showcasing the new BreadCrumb LX5 at Expomin 2014 in booth 221-2 to be held April 21-25 at the Espacio Riesco Convention Center in Santiago, Chile.

New BreadCrumb Now Offers Up to 6 External Antenna Ports The Rajant BreadCrumb LX5 is the latest multi-radio node in the BreadCrumb family that seamlessly forms a mesh network with other BreadCrumb devices. The new LX5 offers up to six external antenna ports to facilitate the use of IEEE 802.11n MIMO (multiple input, multiple output) radios. It is configurable with two Ethernet ports, two USB ports, one status LED, and two switches (one for LED configuration and restoring factory defaults and one for power).

The LX5 contains up to four radio modules that are configurable to use 900 MHz, 2.4 GHz, 4.9 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies and supports IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n protocols to enable high-bandwidth data, voice and video applications.

The new LX5 is compatible with the entire line of LX, ME, and JR BreadCrumb mesh networking nodes and can be added to existing networks for scalability to hundreds of mobile nodes.

As with all members of the BreadCrumb family, the new LX5 supports secure connectivity with any Ethernet or 802.11a/b/g/n client equipment-allowing compatibility with off-the-shelf devices including laptops, PDAs, IP cameras, sensors, VoIP phones and other IP gear.

Rajant?s InstaMesh software enables Rajant wireless nodes to have continuous and instantaneous routing of wireless and wired connections. Rajant's dynamic frequency utilization capability allows for network mobility with robust fault tolerance, high throughput and low latency. Rajant's patented InstaMesh technology is used extensively today in demanding military and mining operations to provide reliable networking for remote monitoring, tracking assets, voice and data communications, and video feeds.

Availability The new Rajant BreadCrumb LX5 is expected to be available in July 2014 through Trimble's mining dealer network in Central and South America, Australia, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.
