Alpheus Communications Acquires Net Star Telecommunications
HOUSTON --(Business Wire)--
Alpheus
Communications, a leading provider of Texas metro-regional fiber and
networking solutions, today announced that it has acquired Net Star
Telecommunications Inc., a Houston-based provider of network and data
center services.
The acquisition further broadens Alpheus' customer base in Texas, and
current Net Star customers will have access to a wider array of network
facilities and services as Net Star operations are integrated with
Alpheus.
"While the core of our expansion strategy in 2012 is through organic
growth of the enterprise market, we are committed to making
opportunistic acquisitions that create network and infrastructure
synergis for Alpheus," said Alpheus CEO Scott Widham. "This transaction
illustrates the industry trend of consolidating non-facility-based
providers with facility-based providers like Alpheus. Bringing more
customers onto our network is a win-win scenario where Alpheus gains
operational scale while offering additional, affordably priced services
to our customers."
The services that Net Star manages for its customers will be migrated
over time to Alpheus owned and managed network and data center
facilities. Alpheus' enterprise services, including Metro Ethernet,
MPLS, E-LAN, data center colocation and business-class voice solutions,
provide the performance and uptime guarantee required for
mission-critical data, voice and video traffic, as well as help
customers connect multiple locations with ease.
