ITT Exelis named as an awardee on USD10bn Global Tactical Advanced Communication Systems contract

Nov 09, 2012 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) -- Diversified aerospace, defence and information solutions company ITT Exelis (NYSE:XLS) said on Thursday that it has been selected as an awardee on the GTACS (Global Tactical Advanced Communication Systems and Services) indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract with a potential ceiling of USD10bn.

This five-year multiple task order contract, issued by the US Army's PEO C3T (Program Executive Office Command, Control and Communications-Tactical), calls for a rapid acquisition of a wide range of tactical command, control and communications systems, hardware, software, engineering services and logistics support services.

The contract awardees will also provide support to other Department of Defence organizations and US federal government agencies in a variety of areas.

ITT Exelis said that the initial task orders from this contract are expected to be released in 2013 and will fall under the three key task areas of Development, Production and Deployment and Sustainment.
