Lantronix, Inc., a global provider of smart M2M connectivity solutions, reported that it is joining the mobile arts movement with their sponsorship and participation in the upcoming LA Mobile Arts Festival (LA MAF) from Aug. 18-25 at the Santa Monica Art Studios. Hosted by the online mobile art community iPhoneArt.com (IPA), a weeklong event celebrates the intersection of art and technology by featuring iPhoneography, in which art is originated through the lens of an iPhone.
Mobile artists from around the world will display their latest creative works, the Company noted.
As a sponsor of the LA MAF, Lantronix said it will sponsor several print stations throughout the event, and demonstrate their xPrintServer, a plug-and-print hardware solution for printing wirelessly from iPads, iPhones, and virtually any Apple iOS device.
"The iPhone and iPad allow for an entirely new expression of art," said IPA co-founder and LA MAF producer Daria Polichetti. "Lantronix has a solid reputation as an innovative technology company in the mobile space, and we welcome their technical expertise to our artistic community. Their presence at the LA Mobile Arts Festival further illustrates the power of combining art with technology."
"We firmly believe in expanding awareness of our products beyond the traditional technology world," said Mark D. Tullio, VP of worldwide marketing, Lantronix. "Our participation with the LA Mobile Arts Festival and iPhoneArt.com enables us to directly connect to an entirely new segment of consumer looking to print high-quality art, illustrations and digital photographs from iPhones and iPads. We couldn't be more pleased to take part in this unique event."
Lantronix reported that its xPrintServer - Network Edition and Lantronix xPrintServer - Home Edition are Apple iOS print servers compatible with the new iPad, iPad2, iPhone, iPod touch, and virtually any device running Apple's iOS mobile operating system. The xPrintServer, roughly the size of an iPhone, is a hardware solution that utilizes the iOS native print menu and requires no additional applications, software downloads, or printer driver installations. With automatic printer discovery and no configuration, the Company said that printing is fast, easy and hassle-free. Open the box, plug the xPrintServer anywhere into the network or router, and print wirelessly from any iOS device running iOS version 4.2 or later, to virtually any USB or network-connected printer.
Lantronix is a global company focusing on secure communication technologies that streamline access and communication with and between virtually any electronic device. The Company serves the medical, security, industrial and building automation, transportation, retail/POS, financial, government, consumer electronics/appliances, and IT/data center entities.
