Honour House Society is pleased to announce they have hired, local resident, Marg Gordon to fill the position of General Manager
VANCOUVER, Jul 24, 2012, 2012 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX) --
Marg comes with a background in
housing, most recently the Chief Executive Officer of the BC Apartment
Owners and Managers Association. Previously Marg worked in the
non-profit housing field with BC Non-Profit Housing Association. In the
late 80's to mid-90's Marg held the elected position of School Trustee
in District 43 (Coquitlam) followed by two terms as a City Councillor
in Port Coquitlam.
Marg has spent a significant portion of her life learning about issues
that are important to her and her community and then trying to find
solutions to those issues. Bringing her background in housing, the
non-profit field, community building and governance makes Marg an ideal
person to further the goals of Honour House.
Honour House Society is an independent registered charity whose
objective is to provide free interim accommodation for the families of
Canadian Forces members, as well as those of the ambulance, fire, law
enforcement services, while the members are receiving care in the Metro
Vancouver area. Honour House is a place of refuge where families may
enjoy a degree of normal family life despite the stress of their
circumstances.The goal of Honour House Society is to continue to
provide safe and comfortable accommodation for those who have served on
our behalf in life-threatening situations. With peaceful surroundings,
caring professional staff and dedicated volunteers, Honour House helps
relieve the emotional and financial stresses that come with illness,
injury and rehabilitation.
