AVAST Software Unveils avast! EasyPass Password Manager



With more and more financial transactions going online, a need for a strong secure solution that is easy to operate will always be embraced by consumers around the globe. In an effort to make life simpler and more secure in this regard, AVAST Software has rolled-out a new password manager, avast! EasyPass.

As a provider of security and antivirus applications, AVAST Software offers a portfolio of security and antivirus applications including avast! Internet Security with SafeZoneTM virtualized desktop; avast! Pro Antivirus for customized computer protection needs; avast! Free Antivirus, a computer security application; and more.

The latest offering by AVAST Software, avast! EasyPass, is a password manager that puts security at the user’s fingertips. It quickly goes to work on its first visit to a website, memorizing the user name and password. This login information is automatically supplied during subsequent visits.

Using a password generator and military-grade encryption algorithms such as Blowfish and AES to protect data, the EasyPass password manager allows users to have secure access to their saved passwords wherever there is an Internet connection.

Available only through the AVAST online shop, EasyPass will pre-fill selected data into almost any web form, in a single click. Passwords are even automatically synchronized so that users can use login information in multiple devices.

According to a press release, a survey of avast! users indicated that a very low penetration rate for password managers. According to the survey, more and more participants intended to deploy a password manager if the application was: easy to use and saves time with one-click data entry into web forms; keeps passwords in a secure, encrypted location; and remembers various passwords in one place.

Officials with AVAST Software said that EasyPass has been designed to meet these expectations for a password saver

“EasyPass is a rare phenomenon: an application that saves people time and headaches while also increasing their level of security,” said Vince Steckler, CEO of AVAST Software, in a statement. “As people add more computers to their households, they are also increasing the number of passwords – and their need for a way to quickly and easily remember them.”

Steckler added, “Computer users want convenience, they expect security. Now with avast! EasyPass, they can have both.”

In recent news, AVAST Software had launched a new comprehensive IT security software for small and medium-sized businesses, called as avast! Business Protection, which is powered by 6.0 antivirus engine and includes a new browser-based central management console. The application provides IT administrators and service providers with the ability to remotely manage protected desktops and servers in their network via the Internet.
